Start from a template

Pick a starting point. Your current chart is replaced, but you can undo.

Create a flowchart from text

Write one flow per line and link steps with ->. Steps ending in ? become decisions; label a branch like yes: Next step. Start and End become rounded terminals.

The calculation happens instantly in your browser. The numbers you enter are not sent to our servers or saved.

How to use the Flowchart Maker

  1. Start from a template (order process, approval, login system, algorithm and more) or a blank canvas.
  2. Add shapes from the panel, then drag from a blue dot to connect them. Drop a line on empty space to create the next step.
  3. Double-click to type, style shapes and lines in the Properties panel, then export PNG, SVG or PDF.

What does this tool do?

The editor uses standard flowchart symbols — start/end, process, decision, input/output, document, database, subprocess and more — with snap-to-grid, alignment guides, multi-select, copy and paste, and full undo. Connectors pick the best sides automatically and steer around other shapes, so charts stay readable as you move things.

Prefer typing? “From text” turns lines like “Start -> Check stock? -> yes: Ship” into an editable chart, and Tidy up lays everything out in neat layers top-down or left-to-right. Your chart saves in this browser as you work.

Why use it?

  • Drag-and-drop with smart connectors.
  • Templates and auto-layout.
  • PNG, SVG and PDF export.
  • Free, private, no sign-up.

Frequently asked questions

How do I connect two shapes?

Hover over a shape and drag from one of its blue dots onto another shape. The connector picks the best sides and routes around other shapes. Drop it on empty canvas instead to create a new connected step.

Which flowchart symbols are included?

Start/end (terminal), process, decision, input/output, document, database, subprocess, manual input, preparation, delay, connector, note and free text. You can switch any shape's type and restyle its fill, border and text.

Can I still make a flowchart from text?

Yes. Choose “From text”, write one flow per line linking steps with ->, end decisions with ? and label branches like “yes: Ship”. The chart is laid out automatically and stays fully editable.

How do I put a flowchart in Word, Google Docs or PowerPoint?

Export a PNG for documents and slides, an SVG for perfectly sharp scaling, or a PDF for printing and sharing.

Is my flowchart saved?

It's saved automatically in your browser, and you can download a .json file to open it again later or on another computer. Nothing is uploaded.

Does it work on a tablet or phone?

Yes. Drag shapes with your finger, pinch to zoom and use the Shapes and Properties panels at the bottom of the screen. A mouse and keyboard give you shortcuts like copy, paste and undo.
