How to use the Passport & ID Photo Maker
- Pick your country or document.
- Choose a photo taken against a plain light wall, then drag and zoom until your head fits the guides.
- Download the single 300 DPI photo for online forms, or a print sheet to print at 100% scale.
What does this tool do?
Passport rules specify both the photo size and how large your head must appear — for example 25–35 mm chin-to-crown on a US 2×2 inch photo. The dashed ovals show the allowed range for the chosen country.
A 4×6 inch sheet prints at any photo kiosk for a fraction of the cost of a studio photo. Your images are processed on your own device and never uploaded.
Why use it?
- 10 country presets.
- Head-size guides.
- 4×6 in and A4 print sheets.
Accuracy and limits
- Rules change and agencies may reject photos for lighting, shadows, glasses or expression. Check your government's current requirements before applying.
Privacy
Your files are processed entirely in your browser using built-in web technologies. They are not uploaded to our servers, and closing the page clears them from memory. There's no account to create and nothing to install.
Frequently asked questions
Which countries are supported?
Presets cover the United States (2×2 in), United Kingdom, Schengen/EU, Pakistan, Australia and Japan (35×45 mm), Canada (50×70 mm), India (2×2 in for applications abroad and visas), China visas (33×48 mm) and UAE visas (43×55 mm). Each has head-size guides for that country.
How do I take a good passport photo at home?
Stand about 1.2 m from a plain white or light-grey wall, face a window or diffuse light so there are no shadows, remove glasses, and ask someone else to take the photo at eye level. Selfies distort the face and are a common rejection reason.
How do I print passport photos cheaply?
Download the 4×6 inch sheet and order a standard 4×6 print at a pharmacy, supermarket or online photo lab — it costs a fraction of a studio. Print at 100% scale and cut out the photos. An A4 sheet is also available for home printers.
Is the digital photo good enough for online applications?
The single photo downloads at 300 DPI at the exact physical size, which covers most online forms. If a portal sets a file-size limit, run it through Reduce Image Size; if it wants exact pixels, use the Image Resizer.
Can it remove or replace my background?
No — it crops and sizes your photo. Take it against a plain, light background in the first place; most rejections come from shadows or patterned backgrounds.
