Good to know

JPG, PNG or WebP?

JPG is best for photos and gives small files. PNG keeps sharp edges and transparency, which suits logos, screenshots and graphics, but photo files get large. WebP does both jobs and is usually 25–35% smaller than JPG at similar quality, and every modern browser supports it.

Getting a photo under a size limit

Many application forms ask for a photo under 50 KB, 100 KB or 200 KB. Lowering JPG quality to 70–80% usually gets you there with no visible loss. If not, reduce the pixel dimensions as well. The Reduce Image Size tool does both automatically until it hits your target.

Common questions

Quick answers about these free tools.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. Image tools use the Canvas API in your browser. Your files stay on your device.

Which formats can I open?

JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF (first frame), BMP and, in most modern browsers, AVIF. HEIC/HEIF photos from iPhones are supported by the HEIC to JPG converter.

Will compressing make my photo blurry?

At 70–85% quality most photos look the same to the eye. Every tool shows the result and the new file size before you download.
