How to use the Lorem Ipsum Generator
- Choose paragraphs, sentences or words.
- Set how many you need.
- Copy or download the text.
What does this tool do?
Lorem ipsum is scrambled Latin derived from a work by Cicero. Designers use it so readers focus on layout and typography rather than reading the words.
Why use it?
- Fill mockups and templates.
- HTML paragraph option for developers.
- Generate as much or as little as you need.
Tip
For user testing, consider realistic draft copy instead — real words reveal problems with length and tone that placeholder text hides.

Frequently asked questions
What does lorem ipsum actually mean?
It's scrambled Latin taken from Cicero's “De finibus bonorum et malorum”, written in 45 BC. The words have been cut and altered, so they don't form real sentences — which is the point.
Should I use real content instead?
Whenever you can. Real headings and text reveal layout problems that placeholder text hides, like long words, very short paragraphs or headings that wrap. Lorem ipsum is best for early layouts.
