How to use the Remove Line Breaks

  1. Type or paste your text into the box.
  2. Choose whether to keep paragraph breaks or make a single line.
  3. Copy the result or download it as a text file.

What does this tool do?

PDFs store text as positioned lines, so copying from them leaves a line break at the end of every line. This tool joins those lines while keeping real paragraph breaks (blank lines) — and can rejoin words that were hyphenated across lines.

Why use it?

  • Clean up text copied from PDFs and scanned documents.
  • Turn lists into a single line.
  • Fix email text that wraps oddly.

Example

“The results were signifi-\ncant and clearly\nshowed…” becomes “The results were significant and clearly showed…”.

Privacy

Frequently asked questions

Will it keep my paragraphs?

Yes. Blank lines are treated as real paragraph breaks and kept, while the single line breaks inside each paragraph are joined into flowing text. You can also join everything into one line.

What about words split with a hyphen at the end of a line?

The tool can rejoin words that were hyphenated across lines, so “informa-” and “tion” become “information” again instead of “informa- tion”.
