How to use the Social Media Image Resizer
- Upload a photo.
- Tick the platforms and formats you need.
- Choose fill-and-crop, fit with a colour or a blurred background, then download.
What does this tool do?
Each platform crops images differently: Instagram favours 4:5 portraits, stories are 9:16, and LinkedIn and Facebook link images are about 1.91:1. Uploading the wrong shape means awkward automatic crops.
Fill-and-crop keeps the frame full (adjust the focus to keep heads in shot); fit with blur keeps the whole photo with a soft background. Images are created in your browser — nothing is uploaded.
Why use it?
- 16 up-to-date sizes.
- Three fitting modes.
- Download everything as a ZIP.
Use cases
- Post the same photo to Instagram, LinkedIn and X without awkward automatic crops.
- Make a YouTube channel banner, LinkedIn banner and Facebook cover from one image.
- Prepare a link-preview (Open Graph) image for a website or blog post.
Common mistakes
- Using fill-and-crop on a photo with people near the edge. Move the crop focus, or switch to fit + blur so nothing is cut off.
- Putting text near the edges of banners. Profile photos and buttons cover parts of LinkedIn, X and YouTube banners on many screens — keep text in the centre.
Privacy
Your files are processed entirely in your browser using built-in web technologies. They are not uploaded to our servers, and closing the page clears them from memory. There's no account to create and nothing to install.
Frequently asked questions
Which sizes are included?
16 presets: Instagram post (1080×1080), portrait (1080×1350) and story (1080×1920); Facebook link image (1200×630) and cover (1640×624); X post (1600×900) and header (1500×500); LinkedIn post (1200×627), banner (1584×396) and company cover (1128×191); YouTube thumbnail (1280×720) and banner (2560×1440); Pinterest pin (1000×1500); TikTok cover (1080×1920); Open Graph (1200×630); Twitch banner (1200×480).
What's the difference between the three fit modes?
Fill & crop fills the frame and trims the overflow (use the focus slider to keep the important part). Fit + colour shows the whole photo on a solid colour. Fit + blur shows the whole photo on a blurred, enlarged copy of itself.
What format are the downloads?
High-quality JPG files named with the platform and size, one at a time or all together in a ZIP.
