How to use the Countdown Timer
- Enter hours, minutes and seconds, or tap a preset like 5 or 10 minutes.
- Press Start.
- Pause or reset whenever you need.
- An alarm beeps and the tab title changes when time is up.
What does this tool do?
The timer tracks the actual end time rather than counting ticks, so it stays accurate. The alarm is generated by your browser, with no sound files to download.
Why use it?
- Cooking, exams, presentations and breaks.
- Quick presets.
- Full-screen view for classrooms.
Tip
Keep the tab open. Some phones pause background tabs to save battery, which can delay the alarm.

Frequently asked questions
How will I know the timer has finished if I'm in another tab?
An alarm sound plays and the tab title changes to “⏰ Time's up!”, so you can spot it in your tab bar. Keep the tab open until the timer ends.
Why didn't I hear the alarm?
Check your device volume. On iPhones, the silent switch also mutes sound from web pages, and some browsers block audio until you've interacted with the page.
