What does this tool do?

The Pomodoro technique, developed by Francesco Cirillo, breaks work into short, focused intervals. The fixed end point makes it easier to start, and regular breaks help keep energy up.

Why use it?

  • Beat procrastination on big tasks.
  • Study in manageable blocks.
  • Fully customizable lengths.

A typical cycle

Focus 25 min → break 5 min → focus 25 → break 5 → focus 25 → break 5 → focus 25 → long break 15 min.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change the session and break lengths?

Yes. The classic pattern is 25 minutes of work, a 5-minute break, and a longer break after every four sessions, but you can set each length to suit you.

What should I do if I get interrupted?

The technique suggests either postponing the interruption until the break, or abandoning the session and starting a fresh one. Short sessions make it easier to protect your focus.
