How to use the ATS Resume Checker

  1. Click “Import my CV” and choose your PDF, Word (.docx) or text file — it's read on your device, not uploaded.
  2. See your score and the fixes that matter most: missing contact details, weak bullet points, missing numbers, length, dates and country conventions.
  3. Paste the job advert under “Match a job advert” to see which of its keywords your CV is missing, then fix everything in the editor and download a new PDF.

What does this tool do?

Applicant tracking systems parse your CV into fields and rank it against the job description. CVs fail for predictable reasons: content the parser can't read, missing contact details, vague bullets without results, and not using the advert's language. The checker tests for these and links each problem to the section to fix.

The keyword match pulls the advert's important terms — tools, skills and phrases such as “stakeholder management” or “Power BI” — and shows which ones already appear in your CV. Add only what's true, ideally inside a bullet that proves it. Your CV is saved in this browser only — nothing is uploaded, and there's no sign-up or watermark.

Why use it?

  • Score with specific, clickable fixes.
  • Job-advert keyword match.
  • Imports PDF, Word and text CVs.
  • Free and private — nothing uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

How does the ATS checker score my resume?

It checks contact details, summary length, quantified achievements, action verbs, bullet length, dates, skills, education, page count and your target country's conventions, then weights the results into a score out of 100.

Does it work with PDF resumes?

Yes, as long as the PDF contains real text. Scanned or image-only PDFs can't be read by ATS software either — if the import finds no text, that's a sign to rebuild your CV as a text PDF.

Is my CV uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is read in your browser and the analysis runs on your device.

What's a good ATS score?

85 or more means your CV is in good shape. Below 65, fix the red items first — they're usually missing information or unreadable content.
